Our first service dog team! Volodymyr and his dog Gera.
Having served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces for a year, Volodymyr is back in Kyiv now rehabilitating from his injuries. Before the war, Volodymyr worked as a psychologist in a centre for children with special needs, and Gera worked by his side as a therapy dog.
Standing next to Volodymyr is Dmytro.
Dmytro is our second official participant who will be recieving a service dog. Before the war Dmytro was a neurologist in Donetsk, but as fighting in eastern Ukraine intensified he volunteered to fight with the Right Sector battalion.
Meet Chief! Our youngest service dog in training!
This little guy will be raised and trained to be a service dog for a Ukrainian veteran. Chief was named by one of the soldiers at the Central Military Hospital in Kyiv during one of our visits there.
